Glanbia Showcases Functional Food, Beverage Prototypes at IFT 2013

CARLSBAD, Calif. and FITCHBURG, Wis.Glanbia Nutritionals will showcase its range of food and beverage ingredients in a variety of prototypes, focusing on functionality, advanced nutrition and specialty ingredients at the 2013 Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo July 13-16 in Chicago.

The company's booth will provide attendees with samples of its Tropical Fruit Smoothie with Chromax® and VitaCholine, ingredients to help increase cognitive function, and BevGrad® XtraThick flaxseed, designed to enhance the body of a beverage while delivering omega-3s and other nutritional benefits to beverage applications. Glanbia will also showcase its Fatigue Fighter Energy Shots fortified with energy-boosting PepForm® Fatigue Fighter peptides, and with the inclusion of BevGrad® Chia which provides a natural form of energy, while CarniPure carnitine supports sustained energy.

Glanbia will demonstrate its bakery ingredient solutions with Cake Pop prototypes. The cake pops will highlight GanedenBC30®, a heat-stable probiotic aimed at digestive health and immunity, as well as OptiSol® 3000, a new cost-effective alternative to eggs for a variety of bakery products. The cake pops will also have a high-protein coating for additional protein fortification.

Another protein-fortified prototype, Protein Bites, will be featured. The bites are made with a high-protein coating and a center fortified with Setria® glutathione to protect against toxins and oxidative stress. The Protein Bites will appear in a variety of flavors and offer protein, great taste and convenience. Also highlighted are, gluten-free, high omega-3 peanut butter and jelly flaxbread sandwiches. These feature the omega-3 benefits of the fine-milled flaxseed within the bread, the antioxidant pTeroPure® pterostilbene for a functional preservative and overall health in the fruit spread and BevGrad flaxseed for omega-3s in the peanut butter.
