For the award, Frost & Sullivan identifies companies and products and analyzes innovation, acceptance, value and quality. Chr. Hansen is a major player in the probiotic marketplace, with well documented strains and extensive research and development (R&D) initiatives, the third-party company noted.

"It caters to almost every group of the population: infants, elderly and the general population."

As a result, the Danish company holds a successful stake in the probiotics market. The probiotics industry shows no sign of slowing down, especially as new research surfaces on the bacteria's benefits.
