WASHINGTON Green Planet, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a dietary supplement that is marketed as a product for "male enhancement".
FDA said its testing found the capsule "Night Bullet" contained Sulfohydroxyhomosildenafil and Aminotadalafil, which are analogues of sildenafil the active pharmaceutical ingredient in an FDA-approved drug that is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
"These undeclared active ingredients pose a threat to consumers because sildenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) and lower blood pressure to dangerous levels," FDA stated. "Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates."
FDA urged consumers to discontinue use of the product and notify their doctors if they are experiencing any health problems. Night Bullet was sold nationwide between October 2012 and March 2013 to wholesalers and samples were provided at trade shows, according to the agency.
The following lot is being recalled: batch lot # B43N032; UPC code 018505122233; expiration date of October 2015.
