ADM Develops Aspire Food Systems, Partners with Matsutani

DECATUR, Ill.—Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) launched Aspire™ Food Systems, a service designed to help snack food formulators bridge the gap between indulgence and healthy eating. Manufacturers can draw on ADM’s (www.admworld.com) product development expertise, tools and ingredients to improve the nutrition, flavor and functionality of new or existing snack foods and bars. Among the options ADM is offering are customized formulations for snack pieces, trail mixes, wafers, energy bars and more; the formulas include ADM’s specialty ingredients, such as Fibersol® dietary fiber and CardioAid™ phytosterols.

In additional news, ADM and Matsutani America Inc. (www.matsutani.com) formed a joint venture to support the worldwide sales and marketing of the food ingredient Fibersol-2™. This soluble dietary fiber ingredient can be used in food and beverages as well as dietary supplements. The partnership combines Matsutani’s technical and scientific background with ADM’s production and transportation capabilities.
