7th Annual SupplySide Golf Tournament Swings into Motion

Friendly competition and rollinggreens set the scene for a group of almost 100 duffers on a cool day atBeechtree Golf Club during the 7th Annual SupplySide East Golf Tournament,co-sponsored by Marco Hi-Tech, LeSaffre Yeast Corp. and HSR:Health Supplement Retailer.
The best ball tournament featured a shotgun start, and thegolfers bundled up for the breezy, cool spring day. Following the tournament,players relaxed and chatted during a buffet luncheon, raffle and awardsceremony. Dana Armitstead, associate publisher for Virgo Publishings Health& Nutrition Division, drew the winning raffle tickets. Raffle prizes included golf clubs, bags, visors, shirts andshoes.
Following the raffle, the tournament champions and secondandthird-place winners were announced. The winning team included Erika Harris and Jim ODonnellwith Novel Ingredient Services; Steven Cherewich, USANA Health Science; andJerry Rayman, Manhattan Drug Co., with a score of 62. The second-place teamconsisted of David Barnes and David Huesgen, Reliv International Inc.; BoNickoloff, Larex Inc.; and Derek Spence, Striker Partners, with a score of 63;while the third place trophy was claimed by Carl Ramjeet and Oscar Ramjeet,Natures Value; Al Call, CSB Nutrition; and Greg Ris, Indena USA Inc., with a score of 63.
As for individual prizes, the $25,000 Hole-in-One prize wentunclaimed again. The mens and womens Closest to the Pin winners were ODonnell(11 feet, 7 inches); and Robin Willard, JLM Marketing (21 feet, 1 inch),respectively. The mens Longest Drive award was taken by Larry Walsh, JLMHuber; Monica Johnson, PureWorld Botanicals, claimed the title for the ladies.
The event was successful, albeit a bit chilly, and thecourse selected was very nice, said David Garner, executive vice president ofMarco Hi-Tech. The fact that there was only one foursome per hole allowed thegolf to move along at a steady pace. And as always, Virgo ran a professionallyorganized day.
