GREENVILLE, Pa.--Carolwood Corp., based here, and Long Beach, Calif.-based Botanicals International in early September announced they have formed a strategic alliance to develop the market for dietary supplements in Canada.

According to Jonathan Lister, general manager of Carolwood, the alliance brings together two companies with complementary qualities. "This alliance effectively builds on the strengths of each company to create a greater resource for nutritional supplements," he said. Carolwood brings its existing strong distribution network in Canada and previous branded ingredient introductions, such as its Lignisul MSM and Entrox. BI, meanwhile, is looking to expand its international presence for its high quality botanical line.

The companies stated they also intend to explore further alliance opportunities, according to Lister and Peter Hafermann, BI's vice president of marketing and sales. For more information, visit www.msm.com or www.botanicals.com.
