Food Supplements Europe Welcomes New Members

LONDONFood Supplements Europe welcomed its newest members, including the German food supplement association BLL AK NEM and pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer Boots UK.

BLL Federation of Food Law and Food Science (Bund für Lebensmittelrecht und Lebensmittelkunde) AK NEM represents the food supplements sector in Germany; its membership comprise  major manufacturers and distributors, as well as their raw material suppliers and specialized laboratories, consultants and lawyers.

Boots UK is a health and beauty retailer in the UK, which has approximately 2,500 stores and around 60,000 employees.

 We are delighted that BLL and Boots UK have joined Food Supplements Europe so early in its development," said Ingrid Atteryd, chair of Food Supplements Europe. BLLs approach is in line with ours of engaging in discussion with the political and scientific bodies. Boots UK brings unique experience of manufacturing, distribution and retail."

Atteryd also said Food Supplements Europe is working to build an EU regulatory system to consider the specificities of food supplements and provide solutions on regulatory, scientific and technical matters.

Food Supplements Europe represents the interests of the EU's food supplement sector. Its membership includes national associations and companies committed to ensuring that future EU legislation and policy reflects the important role that this sector plays in the health of consumers.
