SupplySide strategic partners such as trade associations and charitable organizations offer many networking and education opportunities at SupplySide West and Food ingredients North America. The following is a list of partner activities and events. 

The American Botanical Council (ABC) will be participating in a panel discussion about adulteration in the ingredient supply chain and a solution available to all companies developed via the Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP). The session features Taneesha Routier-Rogers, director of regulatory affairs at dietary supplement brand XYMOGEN, and Tom Dubinski, vice president of quality systems at contract manufacturer Arizona Nutritional Supplements. Both companies have adopted and implemented the BAPP Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Destruction of Irreparably Defective Articles, which provides language for ingredient buyers and sellers to incorporate into their contracts requiring the destruction of such ingredients. ABC Chief Science Officer Stefan Gafner, Ph.D., and Health Business Strategies Founder Michael Levin will represent ABC/BAPP on the panel. The session takes place Oct. 31 from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on the SupplySide Stage located at booth #5764 and is open to all. SupplySide recently added the SOP to its Compliance Program, recommending that all companies adopt and implement it. ABC is exhibiting in booth #7455. 

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) will host its member reception and several committee meetings at SupplySide West. AHPA committee meetings include the following: 

  • Ayurvedic Products Committee: Oct. 29, 8 a.m.-9 a.m., Tropics A/B 

  • Government Relations Committee: Oct. 29, 9:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m., Tropics A/B 

  • Botanical Raw Materials Committee: Oct. 29, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tropics A/B 

  • Sports Nutrition Committee: Oct. 30, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Tropics A/B 

  • Psychedelic Plants & Fungi Committee: Oct. 30, 10:45 a.m.-11:45 a.m., Tropics A/B 

  • Education Committee: Oct. 30, 12 p.m.-1 p.m., Tropics A/B 

Will Woodlee, outside general counsel for AHPA and a partner at Kleinfeld, Kaplan & Becker LLP, will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” This event takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., in Islander Ballroom H. 

AHPA Chief Science Officer Holly Johnson, PH.D., will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “Functional Mushrooms: Sources, standards, species and science.” This event takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., in Islander Ballroom C. 

AHPA Director of Regulatory Affairs Robert Marriott, J.D., will be a panelist during the education session, “Active nutrition category updates: The regulatory market and scientific landscape of products and ingredients,” set for Oct. 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Islander Ballroom H. 

Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) Senior Vice President of Dietary Supplements Douglas “Duffy” MacKay will join Woodlee and others as a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” 

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) will host its member meeting and breakfast on Oct. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in Tradewinds A. The event is open to members and invited guests, featuring an industry update and Q&A with CRN President and CEO Steve Mister and CRN General Counsel Megan Olsen. 

Mister also will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” 

The Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 (GOED) will host the GOED Omega-3 Resource Center in booth #3555, offering access to market information, industry experts and GOED members. 

The International Probiotics Association (IPA) will host the IPA Pre-, Pro- and Post-Biotics Resource Center in booth #5655. This resource center offers the latest information about the probiotics market, connections to IPA member companies, and expertise in probiotic technology and regulation. 

IPA Executive Director George Paraskevakos, IPA Scientific Director Jessica Younes and IPA Education and Communication Director Sandra Saville will be panelists on the education session, “Microbiome market madness: Opportunities, innovations and insights.” The session takes place on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., in Islander Ballroom E. 

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) will host the NASC Animal Supplements Resource Center in booth #5811. This resource center offers information about the animal supplement category, connections to NASC member companies, and expertise in regulatory compliance. Also, NASC President Bill Bookout will speak on a panel, “Unleashing the untapped potential of pet supplements.” This panel takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., in South Pacific Ballroom F. 

Naturally Network will exhibit in booth 1338. 

Naturally Proud Network will host the “LGBTQ+ Allies Networking Reception” on Oct. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in South Pacific Ballroom F. This reception is open to all SupplySide participants. 

Natural Products Association (NPA) CEO and President Dan Fabricant, Ph.D., will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” 

The Non-GMO Verified Project will exhibit in booth #7756. 

Organic and Natural Health Association (ONHA) CEO and Executive Director Karen Howard will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” 

The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) will host its member meeting on Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for members and invited guests, in Islander F. The meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with networking from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. 

UNPA President Loren Israelsen will be a panelist on the knowledge and networking session, “After 30 years of DSHEA, the question is: What now?” 

Vitamin Angels, celebrating its 30th anniversary, will be exhibiting in booth #3989. Vitamin Angels also will be the focus of a networking event (“Vitamin Angels 30th Anniversary Celebration”) at the SupplySide Networking Hub, booth #4614, on Oct. 31 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The networking event is open to all. 

Women In Nutraceuticals (WIN) will host the “#WINtogether Gender Equity Networking Reception” on Oct. 29 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Bayside Foyer. The reception is open to all SupplySide participants.  

WIN Founder and Nutrachievement President Heather Granato will be a panelist on the SupplySide Stage session, “Addressing health inequity: Opportunity for innovation.” The session occurs on Oct. 30 from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
