GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.Elan Nutritions 230,000- square-footproduction facility was certified by QAI (Quality Assurance International) asmeeting organic certification status for production of nutrition bars. The QAIaudit covered a comprehensive range of issues including HACCP management,allergen control, plant and personnel practices, quality control anddistribution controls as they relate to the sourcing, handling and use oforganic ingredients. The certification permits Elan Nutrition to develop andmanufacture organic nutrition bars that can carry the U.S. Department ofAgriculture (USDA) Organic and QAI logos on their packaging.
