KALISPELL, Mont.--Bio-Energy Systems announced that its L. plantarum OM strain of Lactobacillus has been identified as a novel strain of the bacteria, receiving a notice of allowance from the U.S. Department of Commerce Patent and Trade Office. According to the company, L. plantarum may reduce tumor size and may also alter the disease pattern for a retrovirus group including the Rauscher virus, the T-lymphotropic virus and HIV.
