WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.ConsumerLab.com announced in its latest round of testing dietary supplements, all 31 products containing coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) or ubiquinol met label claims for active ingredients. However, the organization stated labels on a few products did contain health claims that appeared to be in violation of federal regulations. Further, ConsumerLab noted there was a wide range in suggested daily serving size (from 22 mg to 400 mg) and in pricing; to obtain 100 mg of CoQ10, prices ranged from $0.11 to over $3.

ConsumerLab includes the names of companies involved in the reviews in its general news releases, but doesnt indicate which ones passed or failed testing, nor the levels of active ingredients in the products. However, the reports with complete findings are available for purchase from ConsumerLab.

The report on CoQ10 and ubiquinol supplements provides findings for 17 supplements randomly selected for testing and 14 additional products that passed the same testing under ConsumerLab.coms Voluntary Certification Program, whereby companies can pay to have their products tested by ConsumerLab. The report also includes information about which products were formulated for enhanced bioavailability, suggested dosages for addressing particular health concerns and, and possible side effects or drug interactions.
