Mexico Association Joins IADSA

BRUSSELS, BelgiumThe International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA) has welcomed the National Association of Food Supplements (ANAISA), from Mexico, as its newest member.  Formed last September, ANAISA represents Mexican companies dedicated solely to the manufacture or marketing of dietary supplements, and focuses its efforts on advertising of food supplementsthe association has developed its own Code of Ethics to self-regulate such advertising.

The new association held its official launch last week. The event was attended by key officials from COFEPRIS, the Mexican regulatory body responsible for food and food supplement regulation, as well as  representatives of the influential scientific bodies National Institute of Public Health and the National Institute of Nutrition Salvador Zubiran.

We are delighted to have ANAISA as a member, said Pete Zambetti , chairman of IADSA. We welcome organizations that work towards facilitating a political and regulatory framework for the growing dietary supplement market. Through our members we strive to ensure consumer safety through legislation, regulation and guidelines founded upon credible scientific principles.
