FREEPORT, N.Y. NutraCoastal Trading LLC is conducting a nationwide recall of its S-DROL dietary supplement, after FDA testing showed Lot 810481 contained the steroid desoxymethyltestosterone; presence of the unlabeled drug ingredient makes S-DROL both adulterated and an unapproved drug. The voluntary recall notice was posted the same day FDA issued a public health advisory urging consumers to avoid the use of dietary supplements promoted as having steroid-like effects. NutraCoastal was not named in the public health advisory, although the agency suggested consumers avoid the use of all body building products with claims about steroid-like effects.
