Swiss Company Settles with FTC

WASHINGTON--The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced a settlementwith Dr. Clark Behandlungszentrum GmbH, a Swiss company, and its U.S.counterpart, Dr. Clark Research Association. FTC (www.ftc.gov)charged the companies with selling devices and dietary supplements with claimsthat they would cure cancers, AIDS and other serious diseases. Among theallegations were claims that Dr. Clark's New 21 Day Program for Advanced Cancerswould cure advanced cases of cancer and the use of Herbal Parasite Cleanse wouldtreat serious diseases.

The proposed final order prohibits the defendants from making unsubstantiatedhealth or safety claims for any product, and requires the companies to notifyU.S. consumers that they are entitled to full refunds.
