New ingredients released by AIDP, Sabinsa and Nattopharma ASA will aid in heart and digestive health, and also help functional food development.
The first company, AIDP Inc., entered the booming digestive health market with a new prebiotic ingredient, PreticXTM. The ingredient’s release is a result of AIDP’s partnership with Life Bridge International, an international company specializing in diabetic-friendly/low-calorie sweeteners, and it is manufactured by Shandong Longlive Bio-technology Co Ltd. PreticX is classified as a prebiotic, generally recognized as safe (GRAS)-certified, and it is also Non-GMO Verified. Clinical studies show the ingredient can significantly increase the proliferation of bifidobacterium in both low and high doses.
Sabinsa Corporation will also unveil a new form of curcumin in booth #310 at Engredea/Expo West, Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California, March 6 to 8, 2015. Sabinsa’s Curcumin C3 Reduct® solves the problem of staining, and its C3 Complex® is proven efficacious by numerous studies. The R&D team also has a new innovation in store that will likely interest functional food and beverage developers.
Meanwhile, Nattopharma ASA formed a collaboration with Hofseth BioCare (HBC) to combine their clinically validated ingredients, MenaQ7® vitamin K2 as MK-7 and OmeGoTM EFA from salmon oil, respectively, to create a highly differentiable offering for heart health products. The ingredient combination improves arterial elasticity while reducing oxLDL GP, a new cardiovascular marker. MenaQ7® PURE is a first-in-class nature-identical synthetic vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (MK-7).
