Microwarriors Probiotics Doc Debuts
January 31, 2011
MONTREALA new documentary focused on probiotics is now available on DVD, and several broadcasting companies are in discussions to air it on television. Microwarriors: The Power of Probiotics," supported by Institut Rosell-Lallemand and Danisco, is the first documentary entirely dedicated to the friendly bacteria. This documentary offers a combination of medical information, realistic biological animations and history of probiotics. The documentary is produced by Health Point Press (CA) and Ron Frank.
Isabelle Champié, deputy manager and global marketing director for Institut Rosell-Lallemand comments: The history of probiotics is tightly linked with the history of our company which was founded in the early 1930s in Canada. It is indeed Dr. Rosell, our founder, who introduced yoghurt in Northern America. Since the early days, Institut Rosell has always been committed to promoting the health benefits of probiotics and to the advancement of probiotic research; this is why we agreed to sponsor this ground-breaking documentary. We strongly believe this documentary will help raising awareness and credibility of probiotics among the general public and we hope that it will be a resounding success!"
Danisco also contributed to the film, which includes clips from Daniscos probiotic development and production facilities in Madison, WI. Vice president of health and nutrition marketing at Danisco, Scott Bush, is among the featured experts. As much as we need to provide consumers with the necessary information about the health benefits and safety of probiotics, its important to get the influencers to buy into this, because they are the ones who talk to consumers. One example is when a doctor prescribes antibiotic treatment which, as many people experience, can have unwanted digestive side-effects. A proper dose of the right probiotics, recommended by the physician, represents a safe and effective way to maintain proper GI function, Bush stated.
Executive producer at Health Point Productions, David Knight thanked Danisco for providing tremendous support in getting Microwarriors off the ground. Danisco is one of the companies responsible for making this whole documentary happen, he said, adding: Its education. We wanted to create a story to show the science and that there are real benefits.
