NutraCea and Stonebridge Pharma Team Up Under RiceMucil Brand

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif.Stabilized rice bran food and ingredientsmanufacturer NutraCea (OTC BB:NTRZ) signed a binding letter of intent March 29with StoneBridge Pharma LLC, a Duluth, Ga.-based, privately held specialtypharmaceutical company, to market a line of over-the-counter (OTC) productsunder the RiceMucil® brand. The line will target the human dietary fibermarket, focusing on a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders. Under terms ofthe letter of intent, both companies are required to reach a definitiveagreement within 45 days. Also, provided certain goals are achieved, such asminimum sales volume, Stonebridge (www.stonebridgepharma.com) will have theright to market the fiber products for seven years, with an option to extend theexclusivity for three additional years.

He noted the insoluble fiber fraction of stabilized rice bran contains antioxidants, phytosterols, vitamins, minerals and many other naturally occurring nutrients that may act favorably on gastrointestinal disorders.
