LANGENFELD, Germany—A recently published human study revealed the dietary supplement ingredient Benegut® can substantially improve gastrointestinal discomfort. (Complementary & Alternative Medicine. 2014 May.)

Benegut, a proprietary Perilla frutescens leaf extract, was administered to 50 healthy people in 150mg capsules twice daily over the course of four weeks. Results revealed 80 percent of participants reported considerable improvement of gastrointestinal discomfort.

“Benegut supplementation showed physiological relevant and statistically significant improvement of gastrointestinal discomfort," said Sybille Buchwald-Werner, managing director at Vital Solutions. “The study results are very promising, taking in consideration the challenging set up of a nutritional human study with healthy volunteers and the area of digestive health, which is known for high placebo effects."

Benegut, a product of Vital Solutions, is a sustainable natural ingredient that is IP protected and approved for use in food supplements throughout Europe and the United States.
