January 14, 2019

For every SupplySide West 2018 attendee who washed their hands at the booth of hygiene equipment provider Meritech, the company donated US$1 to Edesia Nutrition, a nonprofit organization that produces peanut-based, ready-to-use therapeutic foods for humanitarian aid organizations working in emergencies, conflict zones and food insecure regions around the world. The company raised $2,544 for Edesia Nutrition, which will help save the lives of roughly 50 malnourished children.

In this podcast, Michele Colbert, president, Meritech, and Heidi Tremblay, food safety and quality manager, Edesia Nutrition, discuss the initiative with Sandy Almendarez, editor in chief, INSIDER, as well as other ways brands can help give back to communities. They cover:

  • How Meritech uses its technology to help save lives and how that helps ensure committed, happy employees.

  • The work that Edesia Nutrition does to improve lives around the world and how many people it has helped.

  • Other suppliers that have helped Edesia Nutrition reach its goals.

This podcast was recorded live at SupplySide West 2018 in October.
