Growing the plant-based market – podcast
The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) was launched three years ago at the Natural Products Expo West show with the mission to promote the plant-based foods industry by removing obstacles to a fair and competitive marketplace for alternatives to animal ingredients and products, noted Michele Simon, executive director.
Data from a 2018 study conducted by Nielsen and commissioned by the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) revealed plant-based food sales grew by 20 percent from the previous year to reach a staggering $3.3 billion.
