Ajinomoto Expanding Amino Acid Production in China

TOKYOAjinomoto Co., Inc. announced it is expanding its amino acids production facilities in Shanghai, China.
The company says it will invest RMB 100 million in Shanghai Ajinomoto Amino Acid Co., Ltd. to approximately double annual production capacity to 2,500 tons. The expansion is scheduled for completion in October 2014.
According to a company press release: Global demand for amino acids for pharmaceuticals and foods has been increasing steadily, and this trend is expected to continue. The expansion of production facilities in Shanghai will enhance Ajinomoto's ability to supply amino acids for pharmaceuticals and foods."
