ABBOTSFORD BC, CanadaAppleActiv, the only scientifically proven, organic dried apple peel powder (DAPP) made its debut as a new ingredient in the supply marketplace.

AppleActiv offers health-conscious consumers a convenient way of adding whole-food nutrients to their diet. Few consumers are aware of the apple peel's nutritional benefits, which contains up to six times more nutrients than the flesh. When the peel is dried and powdered, the nutrients are more concentrated and easily absorbed. AppleActiv's DAPP contains antioxidants, polyphenols and flavonoids of organic apples and is available in daily doses.

AppleActiv is also available in a neutral-tasting dry powder that works in food applications such as supplements, bars, dry powders, smoothies and marinades. The ingredient does not contain preservatives, artificial colors, dyes, or additives and is certified organic.

"While AppleActiv is a unique, new ingredient to the supplement market, it's sourced from the fruit customers have known and trusted longer than any otherapples," said Lorraine Leahy, registered holistic nutritionist and president of AppleActives. "Manufacturers who are tired of the same old 'super-fruit' claims now have something new and exciting to offer their customers."

AppleActiv supports a variety of age-related conditions and can be blended with other ingredients to address a range of condition-specific health concernsjoint health, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, immune health and healthy stress response.

According to a published 12-week clinical study on healthy people with moderate complaints of reduced joint range of motion and discomfort found that subjects improved range of motion, reduced of joint discomfort and improved serum antioxidant protective status after daily consumption of DAPP.

A discussion on the findings from the published study "Apple Peel Polyphenols and Their Beneficial Actions on Oxidative Stress and Inflammation" will take place at the SupplySide West in Las Vegas on November 14.
