Chr. Hansen  ~ Lactobacillus fermentum PCC®

HOERSHOLM, DenmarkChr. Hansen released Lactobacillus fermentum PCC®,  a probiotic strain that works to support athletes' immune health. Probiotics are today used more mainstream in yogurts and standard dietary supplements, and the benefits have not yet been reaped by the sports nutrition industry. PCC shows an effect within sports nutrition and is clinically documented in placebo-controlled studies to reduce illness in athletes after training.

In addition, PCC is a very promising strain within immune health. Several clinical studies in various indication areas have been conducted and PCC has shown to be effective in relation to atopic dermatitis, as an adjuvant to flu vaccine, and in supporting the immune response in athletes. Multiple applications of PCC products are available in different dosage forms as well as customized solutions. Additionally, they are manufactured to meet specific industry requirements. One of the key advantages of PCC being based on a lactic acid bacterium is a natural compound with no side effects. This results in fewer days of illness meaning fewer involuntary breaks in the training.
