CRN, GOED, NASC and WIN announce events, additions, reports and awards

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has opened registration for its 2024 signature events. The CONVERGENCE ’24 gathering begins in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Oct. 9, with Science in Session, CRN’s annual scientific symposium, as well as WellComms, which explores marketing and communications topics. This format offers attendees two different tracks, depending on their specialties. CRN is also hosting its inaugural Innovation Exchange that afternoon, followed by an evening reception. The Global Organization for EPA & DHA Omega-3s (GOED) recently published two industry reports on the EPA and DHA omega-3 industry: a biennial report on the global finished products market for EPA and DHA omega-3s and a scientific report on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and omega-3s. The 2024 Finished Product Report offers a comprehensive overview of six key markets: dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, pet nutrition, infant formula and clinical nutrition/medical foods. Together, these categories reached $52.4 billion in sales in 2023, primarily influenced by inflation and higher prices. The second report, EPA and DHA Supplementation and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, explores the latest research on the impact of EPA+DHA omega-3 supplementation on ADHD and associated ADHD outcomes. The ADHD report is available for purchase on the GOED website for $199. GOED members have free access to the report. 

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) announced the addition of its newest team member, Kelli Younker, in the role of compliance specialist. Kelli will be responsible for new member onboarding, label training and website reviews. To acquire the NASC Quality Seal, member companies must be approved to join the organization and must also earn permission to use the quality seal by passing an independent, third-party quality audit. The NASC Quality Seal identifies products from companies that are committed to quality, vigilance, and continuous improvement to promote the well-being of companion animals and horses. Women In Nutraceuticals (WIN) is launching an awards program to celebrate the contributions and achievements of those who champion gender equity, drive research innovations, and excel in mentorship within the nutraceutical sector. Awards include Guiding Star, Champion, Research Pioneer and Heroine. Nominations will open June 3 and close June 30. Award criteria and nomination forms can be found here. The awards will be presented at SupplySide West in October.
