Cypress Systems Supplying Product to NCI Trial

TUCSON, Ariz.--The Arizona Cancer Center, aNational Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center at theUniversity of Arizona, is recruiting participants for a study examining the roleof a pharmaceutical and/or selenium in the prevention of colon cancer. Thethree-year study will involve participants in Arizona and Colorado.

Under terms of a clinical trial agreement signed in early 2000between NCI and Cypress Systems Inc., the new study will use Cypress'SelenoExcell High Selenium Yeast product as the selenium source. AnNCI-sponsored study still in progress at Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center inBoston is also reviewing the ability of selenium to reduce the risk of lungcancer.
