ORANGE, N.J.LycoRed debuted a line of vitamin B12 formulations at Vitafoods. Stablets® technology addresses stability and uniform distribution issues associated with B12 by chemically bonding the vitamin to a pharmaceutical ion exchange resin. The technology protects the B12 from pro-oxidants and cross interactions that could degrade the vitamin. Other formulations from LycoRed (www.lycored.com) include triturations on carriers of di-calcium phosphate, mannitol and maltodextrin, all of which ease uniform distribution. LycoRed will launch its BLT antioxidant fortification system at the IFT Food Expo 2007. BLT is a dispersible, all-natural, ready-to-use formulation of betacarotene from Lyc-O-Beta, natural lutein from Lyc-O-Lutein, and natural tomato lycopene and other tomato phytonutrients from Lyc-O-Mato® Red. The formulation is highly soluble and designed specifically for nutritional beverages.
