In the cosmeceutical world, the terms “wrinkles," “age spots" and “crow’s feet" might as well be dirty words. Luckily, ingredients such as peptides and dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) and have been researched to show several anti-aging effects for skin.
Peptides are nothing new to the beauty world—collagen peptides, which accumulate in the skin to produce dermal extracellular matrix components, are useful for providing stimulation to the skin as it loses moisture due to age. In fact, previous research shows oral ingestion of collagen peptides can significantly reduce eye wrinkle volume. However, new company-conducted studies by Derma e® further back the credibility of both peptides and DMAE for wrinkle reduction and skin brightening.
In an eight-week study, two groups of participants were asked to use derma e’s Firming DMAE Eye Lift or the Deep Wrinkle Peptide Moisturizer SPF 30 as directed. Results were measured through VisioFace 1000D photographic images and Complete Skin Investigation (CSI) analytical software at zero and eight weeks. Participants also completed a post-trial self-perceived product efficacy survey.
Both quantitative and qualitative test results concluded that the peptide moisturizer and DMAE eye lift product effectively diminished the visible signs of aging.
The company’s moisturizer contains the peptides Argireline®, Matrixyl® synthe'6® and Clear Zinc Oxide chemical-free sunscreen. All participants in the company study reported less fine lines, 96% reported less wrinkles, and 96% reported less sagging. Subjects also said they noticed healthier and brighter skin, as well as less redness.
The eye lift product includes the key ingredient DMAE, an antioxidant-based ingredient, as well as the peptides Matrixyl synthe’6, Argireline and InstaLift Goji Berry. After eight weeks of use, 95% of study participants reported less sagging, 95% reported less wrinkles and 90% reported less “droopiness." They also said skin had improved elasticity, tightness, and felt softer and smoother.
