Safety of 5-LOXIN® Confirmed

MORRISTOWN, N.J.A study published in Toxicology Mechanisms andMethods (16:199- 226, 2006) verified a broad spectrum of safety for5-LOXIN®, a standardized extract of Boswellia serrata marketed foranti-inflammatory effects and available from P.L. Thomas (www.plthomas.com) instrategic alliance with Laila Nutraceuticals.

In this study, 5-LOXIN was evaluated for acute oral, acute dermal, primaryskin and eye irritation, and dose-dependent 90-day subchronic toxicity. In allcases the results conclusively demonstrated a broad spectrum of safety.

This is an important study affirming 5-LOXINs safety in several models,said Paul Flowerman, president of P.L. Thomas. These results are alsosupported by a recent Ames mutagenicity study, further developing the body ofevidence supporting its use.
