Vision Processing Technologies ~ Encapsulated Caffeine

OWATONNA, Minn.Vision Processing Technologies (VPT) launched encapsulated caffeine as its newest addition to the company's Smart Release Encapsulates line.

Smart Release Caffeine can be delivered at a 75 to 100 micron particle size. It also has rapid-release properties without caffeine's normally bitter taste. The encapsulated caffeine can be customized to meet the processing and specification needs of various products; it can be formulated to resist high-temperature processing methods or release slowly to maintain a more sustained energy profile.

Whether it is the immense popularity of energy drinks or new functional confectionery products, caffeine is a hot commodity in the food and beverage marketplace," said VPTs lead encapsulation scientist Bhaumik Patel. But formulating a great-tasting and efficacious product is a serious challenge for even the most talented product designers."
