CoQ10+ GPM Highly Bioavailable

LA JOLLA, Calif.--A formula of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), as PharmachemLabs CoQ10+ GPM is three times more bioavailable when applied topically, compared to a chemically isolated form of CoQ10 (as Sigma Chemical Co.s USPCoQ10), according to a compilation of studies presented at the Scripps ClinicNatural Supplements Conference held Jan. 16 to 18.

During topical studies, 17 subjects participated in both single-dose andlong-term-use trials, applying either a lotion with CoQ10+ GPM or USP CoQ10 onceto their wrists (single-dose trial) or twice a day to their wrists for onemonth. Researchers found CoQ10+ GPM product was three times more bioavailablecompared to USP CoQ10. Use of CoQ10+ GPM also increased antioxidants in the skin16 percent more than the USP CoQ10 product, according to the study.

The orally-administered antioxidant trial involved 18 fasting adults (ages 19to 53) who were given three capsules containing either 100 mg of CoQ10+ GPM or100 mg of USP CoQ10. Researchers concluded CoQ10+ GPM was over 20 times betterin preventing LDL (bad) cholesterol lipid peroxidation and 70 percentbetter at increasing the lag time of LDL cholesterol oxidation compared to USPCoQ10, according to the study.
