EGCG Treatment Reverses Endothelial Dysfunction in Patients with CoronaryArtery Disease

PARSIPPANY,N.J.Epidemiological studies suggest consumption of flavonoid-containingfoods reduces cardiovascular risk. Basic studies suggest one possible mechanismfor this is improved endothelial function. A recent double blind,placebo-controlled study using TEAVIGO epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) foundthe extract significantly reversed endothelium dysfunction in 42 patients withcoronary artery disease.
