Phase 2 Significantly ReducesTriglycerides

CHICAGOPhase 2 starchneutralizer, supplied by Pharmachem Laboratories, in Kearny, N.J., shows apropensity to reduce triglyceride levels, according to research presented by JayUdani, M.D., medical director at Northridge Hospital Integrative MedicineProgram in Los Angeles, at the 53rd Annual Obesity & Associated ConditionsSymposium, held in Chicago Oct. 10. According to his presentation, Use ofWhite Bean Extract for Weight Loss, Phase 2 induced a 26-point drop, onaverage, in triglycerides compared to an 8-point drop in subjects takingplacebo.

The study was undertaken to investigate the ingredientseffects on weight loss and involved 27 people. After eight weeks, subjectstaking Phase 2 exhibited an average weight loss of 3.8 lbs. and waistcircumference loss of 1.47 inches compared to an average weight loss of 1.65lbs. and a waist circumference loss of 1.07 inches in the placebo group.

While not statistically significant, the results areencouraging, Udani said. When used in conjunction with a sensible dietand exercise, Phase 2 may complement a healthy weight loss program.
