Soy Foods Gaining Popularity Among Americans

CHICAGOSoy foods are gainingpopularity and more Americans are consuming soy foods in their daily diets,according to survey results presented at the 11th Annual Soy Symposium, Oct. 8to 10, sponsored by The Soyfoods Association of North America (SANA) (www.soyfoods.org).

The survey was conducted by Phil Lempert, known as the SupermarketGuru, on his Web site, www.SupermarketGuru.com.According to the survey, 73 percent of people who consume soydo so because they are aware of soys health benefits; 50 percent said theychoose foods containing soy simply because they like the taste. Breakfast and supper are when most soyfoods are eaten; popularfoods include soymilk, soy burgers and tofu entrees.
