Researchers presented a new study at Second International Symposium on Medicinal and Nutraceutical Plants, New Delhi, revealing mint tea, derived from the herb Hyptis crenata, has the same pain-free power as soluble aspirin. A mint tea solution was made up for study mice, equivalent to traditional Brazilian mint tea, and compared to aspirin dissolved in water (control). After using an infrared beam to inflict pain on the mices paw, researchers concluded the two treatments provided equal pain relief.
