Pure-Gar Products Meet Label Claims

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--Essentially Pure Ingredients,a division of Natrol Inc., announced that in ConsumerLab.com's study of garlicsupplements, products using Pure-Gar garlic met or exceeded label claims andmet or exceeded therapeutic levels. ConsumerLab.com randomly selected and tested14 products for allicin yield, potency and other factors.

"While the study shows considerable variation among theseproducts with respect to label claims and concentrations of active levels ofgarlic, there is little doubt as to the therapeutic benefits of garlicsupplements," said Dennis Griffin, president of EPI (www.essentiallypure.com)."Because Pure-Gar is standardized for key active levels and markercompounds like allicin potential, manufacturers can be confident that they willconsistently meet their label claims and achieve appropriate therapeuticlevels."

EPI's Pure-Gar ingredient is standardized, deodorized garlicthat is "cool dried" in a proprietary process designed not to activateallicin production.
