INDIANAPOLIS—Verdure Sciences acquired Geni Herbs’ portfolio of branded ingredients, including POMELLA®, TINOFEND®, BACOGNIZE®, WOKVEL® and CALZBONE®. Verdure, which has offices in Indianapolis and in Heilbronn, Germany, signed a definitive agreement with Geni Herbs in April 2006; the brands included in the transaction are primarily marketed in Europe, Southeast Asia and the United States.

“This acquisition aligns with Geni Herbs’ commitment to clinical researched, proprietary botanical extracts,” said Sonya Cropper, director of marketing for Verdure Sciences (www.verduresciences.com). “While Geni Herbs will continue to produce the highest quality commodity botanical ingredients, this acquisition will further propel the research and global marketing efforts first initiated by Geni.”
