Du Breton Receives AHA's"Free Farmed" Label

WASHINGTON--Du Breton Natural Pork, based inNotre-Dame-du-Lac, Quebec, has been certified humane by the Free Farmed Program, a service offered by the American Humane Association (AHA) and Farm Animal Services(FAS), which assures that the care and handling of manufactured livestock meets the welfare standards set forth by the AHA. The company is the first pork producer to qualify for AHA's "Free Farmed" label. "We are honored that Farm Animal Services has certified our farms, facilities and practices as meeting the American Humane Association's standards for pigs as humane," said MarioMaillet, assistant general manager for du Breton.
