Soybean Sprouts Recall Expanded Over Listeria Fears

WASHINGTONHenrys Farm, Inc., is expanding its April 27 recall of Soybean Sprouts to include Natto Soybean Sprouts because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today. The initial recall was slowed because the sprouts were sent to retailers without lot UPC codes or labeling.

The recall involves 1.5-pound clear plastic containers of Grown in Natural Spring Water Soybean Sprouts; 10-pound bulk bags of Soybean Sprouts; and 1-pound clear plastic containers of Grown in Natural Spring Water Natto Soybean Sprouts. The sprouts were distributed to retail stores in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
