SAN ANSELMO, Calif.—Ethical Naturals announced its ProfileProven™ extracts are setting a new high bar for testing of raw material ingredients, with the aim of taking the risk out of purchasing. Under the ProfileProven system, every batch is tested for full active and marker compound verification, microbiological compliance, heavy metals and pesticides. The company also runs additional tests for known adulterants such as rutin in ginkgo and long-chain polysaccharides in chondroitin.

“At this time in our industry, when the possibility of using a substandard ingredient becomes ever greater, and methods of disguising true quality become more sophisticated, we urge all purchasers of raw materials to carefully review ingredients and their sources for complete quality control verification,” said Cal Bewicke, president. “If our industry wants to continue to grow, quality needs to become our number one concern.”
