Bariatrix Products Files Patent Infringement Suits

LACHINE, Quebec--Bariatrix Products International announced itfiled patent infringement lawsuits against Elan Nutrition LLC in Grand Rapids,Mich., and Rexall Sundown in Boca Raton, Fla. The suits were filed in the U.S.District Court in Vermont, charging the high protein bars manufactured and soldby the companies infringe a Bariatrix patent covering nutritional bars withratios of protein to carbohydrate greater than 1. According to Bariatrix (www.bariatrix.ca),it has executed one license agreement with an unnamed manufacturer ofnutritional bars and has several other agreements pending.
