Bioterrorism Compliance Guides Updated

WASHINGTON--The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued revisions to two compliance policy guides related to the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. The first relates to the registration of food facilities; the only substantive change is a note that on Nov. 8, 2004, FDA is fully implementing its enforcement policy related to registration of domestic facilities. The second guidance is related to rules governing submitting prior notice for food imported into the United States. This guidance includes policies on enforcement of the prior notice requirement, including the necessity of providing a registration number.
