Sabinsa Acting to Protect ForsLean™ Patent

PISCATAWAY, N.J.--Sabinsa Corp. served legal notices to two raw material brokers for alleged patent infringement on ForsLean™, the company's patented Coleus forskohlii ingredient. Sabinsa holds a patent (No. 5,804,596) for the use and composition of ForsLean (www.forslean.com) in promotion of lean body mass, reduction of adipose tissue and weight loss.

"There is absolutely no evidence in the dietary supplement industry that would support an increase in Coleus requirements for traditional, established applications," said Todd Norton, president of Sabinsa. "This activity is the direct result of Sabinsa's efforts in promoting and educating the industry on the patented application claims and proprietary benefits of ForsLean, and nothing else. We have not granted anyone a free license to use our intellectual property, nor do we intend to."
