Virgo Offers Online FTC Advertising Compliance Training

PHOENIX--Virgo Publishing Inc. introduced anonline training and certification program designed to ensure marketers ofdietary supplements understand how to comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC)laws and guidelines. The "FTC Advertising Compliance Program" (http://training.naturalproductsinsider.com)is available through the National Training Institute and is based on the FTCdocument "Dietary Supplements: An Advertising Guide for Industry."Certification is available for a nominal fee, including access to studymaterials and an online test, and discounts for multiple certifications.

"FTC has targeted the dietary supplement industry forenforcement action, and it is the industry's responsibility to ensure that ads,marketing materials and claims are in compliance with the law," said JonBenninger, director of business development for Virgo Publishing. "Thisprogram provides companies a simple way to ensure that their advertising,marketing and communications employees understand the rules to follow to ensurethey do not become the subject of an FTC enforcement action."
