Fortitech Plans Expansions

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.Fortitech Inc. recently completed a $1 million expansion to its manufacturing facility here, and plans to invest more than $9 million in facility expansions and equipment in global operations by the end of 2004, including opening a new dedicated premix facility in Gadstrup, Denmark. The Schenectady expansion included adding new blenders and testing equipment, and more than doubling the laboratory space.

Functional food sales continue to grow worldwide, generated by consumers using food to make better health choices and commitment by the food industry to make healthier choices available, said Walter Borisenok, president of Fortitech (www.fortitech.com). Fortitech is focusing our efforts on what our customers need, which is flexible batch sizes, quick turnaround times, ensured quality, and more R&D support. By increasing our production and laboratory capacity and capabilities, we are better positioned to meet rising industry needs.
