ANAHEIM, Calif.—Merical Vita-Pak Inc., a custom contract packaging company specializing in the nutrition industry, has agreed to merge with B&C Nutritional Products Inc., a manufacturer of high quality nutritional supplements. They expect the transition into a unified organization (to be named later) will be completed in January 2007.

In making the announcement, Dean Baltzell, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Merical Vita-Pak Inc., said: “Combining B&C’s manufacturing and technical expertise with our wide array of packaging options and our culture of exceptional service will allow us to provide a complete and high quality turn-key package. This integrated company will reduce customers’ overall costs and lead times.”

Michael Schlinger, B&C’s chairman and chief financial officer (CFO), agreed on the potential synergy, noting: “Both companies have grown and succeeded by making great products and taking exceptional care of their customers. We expect the new organization to improve upon this tradition.”

Jack Butler, president and director of B&C, will serve as president of technology for the merged company, while Jeffrey Stallings, president of Merical Vita-Pak, will manage operations.
