Orchid Healthcare Receives NSF GMP Registration

CHENNAI, IndiaOrchidHealthcare, a leader in the manufacture of s-adenosyl-methonine (SAMe) wasawarded GMP (good manufacturing practice) registration by NSF International. NSFcompleted a plant audit to confirm Orchids compliance with currentrecommended GMPs for dietary supplements, reviewed product labels and conductedlab testing to ensure the products do not contain undeclared ingredients orcontaminants. Lalilab Inc., located in Durham, N.C., is the U.S. agent forOrchids SAMe and recommended NSF to the manufacturer.

We are very pleased with the NSF inspection andcertification of Orchids SAMe manufacturing facility, said K.R. Rao,managing director of Orchid. International regulatory authorities haveinspected and approved our prescription pharmaceutical manufacturing facilitiesand our SAMe facility was inspected by Australian authorities. This is the firsttime we have had an inspection by a U.S. organization for our dietary supplementoperations.
