SALT LAKE CITYThe United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) congratulated member companies and partner organization on receiving Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ) Awards.

4Life, Alkemist Labs and Thorne Research received the 2013 NBJ Awards for philanthropy, growth and investment in the future, respectively. These UNPA member companies represent the alliance's commitment to quality, safety, science and research, and adherence to accepted industry standards and practices.

UNPA Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) partners American Botanical Council received the journal's education award, while Medicus Research won the science category.

The awards presented to our MOU partner organizations reiterates UNPAs core belief that collaborating with organizations with expertise in a wide variety of related disciplines creates innovation, superior new product development, enhanced company performance and a stronger natural products industry," said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president.

The NBJ Awards provide annual recognition of industry's brightest stars and key players as they broaden the impact and reputation of nutrition as a true steward of health and wellness, according to Marc Brush, NBJ editor in chief.
