Elopak Acquires Canadian Cartoning Facility

MONTREAL--Elopak has acquired a carton converting facility, here, whichserves Canadian clients as well as those in the northeastern United States. Thefacility, which manufactures approximately 400 million gable-top cartonsannually, was purchased from St. Laurent Paperboard Inc. It is FDA- and ISO9002-certified. The new entity will be called "Elopak Canada."

Elopak is the owner of the Pure-Pak brand, which has been licensed to St.Laurent for use in Canada for the last two years. "During this association,St. Laurent re-established Pure-Pak in the Canadian market," said BjornFlatgard, president and chief executive officer of Elopak. "As ElopakCanada, the company will be a key point for serving customers in Canada andrepresents an excellent fit with Elopak's core business."
