FEMA Elects Joanne Ferrara President

WASHINGTONJoanne Ferrara, senior director of research, quality & innovation at Gilroy Foods & Flavors, has been elected president of the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA). Ferrara, who will serve a 1-year term, is FEMAs first president for the associations second century and first female president.

An active member of FEMA for more than 20 years, Ferrara first joined the Board of Governors in 2000 and has been involved with a number of committees, including the science and flavor labeling committees.

Ferrara will focus on providing services to members and leveraging new technologies to sustain the consistent exchange of ideas in todays fast-paced flavor business world. She hopes to use new ways of working together, such as online message boards and dedicated Webinars, to further align FEMAs work with its members business goals.
