EMONTON, Alberta—Radient Technologies Inc., an extractor of natural ingredients from biomass, and Gencor, a supplier of herbal extracts, announced a partnership to develop high-value natural compounds for the food, beverage, nutraceutical and other niche industries.

Radient brings its patented microwave-assisted processing extraction technology, or MAP, to the partnership. MAP improve the cost, recovery and purity of natural actives relative to conventional methods.  Gencor, for its part, brings a science-driven expertise in the development of natural ingredients that improve quality of life, and a distribution channel that reaches blue-chip and growth customers alike in 50 countries.

“A year ago, Gencor commissioned Radient to make an extract from a locally-grown herb. Radient not only accomplished this expeditiously, but also improved yields, significantly reducing costs," said Jith Veeravalli, president of Gencor.  “For the long term, Radient’s expertise and North American facility will help Gencor bring to market more innovative products at even more competitive prices."
